Houston Texas Exes
Houstons local area chapter of the Texas Exes Organization, more formally known as the Ex-Students Association of the University of Texas. There are over 50,000 Texas Exes in the Houston area and more than 9,800 are active in the organization. The Houston Texas Exes provide scholarships to students attending UTHealth and 14 scholarships annually to Houston area students attending The University of Texas at Austin, more than any other Texas Exes chapter.
UTHealth golf classic proceeds to support student scholarships
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Scholarship Golf Classic tees up at 9 a.m. Oct. 25 at Panther Trail Golf Course at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center.
The tournament, now in its 18th year, is open to the public. Proceeds from the event will fund at least 30 student scholarships in each of UTHealth’s six schools, including the Medical School, Dental Branch, School of Public Health, School of Nursing, School of Biomedical Informatics and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
“Over the past 17 years, the golf tournament has raised half a million dollars in scholarship funding for almost 400 students at UTHealth,” said Kevin Dillon, co-chair of this year’s golf classic and executive vice president, chief operating and financial officer of UTHealth. “The students who will benefit from the 18th Annual UTHealth Scholarship Golf Classic are the next generation of healthcare providers, educators and researchers. We hope you will be a part of this important event to support their education and the future of health care.”
